Poyet Pialoux Method: Gentle and Effective Therapy

Sometimes, the body does not need force, but listening. The Poyet-Pialoux method is a subtle, non-invasive manual therapy that works with calm and deep respect for the organism. At Clínica Sarrià, we use it as part of our global treatments to relieve pain, improve imbalances and promote overall wellness.

What is the Poyet-Pialoux Method?

It is a therapeutic technique developed by Maurice Poyet and expanded by his disciple Daniel Pialoux, based on the observation of the primary respiratory movement (PRM) of the body, a subtle rhythmic pulsation that runs through the tissues.

Through this rhythm, the therapist detects micro-imbalances and corrects them with gentle and precise adjustments, generally from the skull, without the need for forced manipulations.

What makes it different?

  • It is non-invasive: it works with light contact, without crunching or aggressive maneuvers.
  • It acts globally: a correction at one point can balance others at a distance.
  • Listen to the body: the rhythm and tensions of the tissue guide the treatment.
  • Stimulates self-regulation: it does not impose a change, it encourages the body to do it by itself.

For whom is it indicated?

The Poyet-Pialoux method is suitable for people of all ages, including infants and the elderly. It is especially useful in:

  • Chronic muscle or joint pain
  • Migraine headaches, dizziness, insomnia
  • Anxiety, stress or persistent fatigue
  • Postural alterations
  • Support in emotional processes
  • Digestive or functional gynecological disorders
  • Problems resulting from childbirth (mother and baby)

It does not replace medical treatments, but can safely complement and enhance them.

How does Clínica Sarrià work?

In your session with the Poyet-Pialoux method:

  1. We perform a functional and energetic assessment.
  2. We observe the MRP in different areas (skull, sacrum, diaphragm…).
  3. We apply gentle corrections, without manipulation, guided by the body’s rhythm.
  4. The body begins to restructure and rebalance itself, naturally and progressively.

The changes are subtle but profound, and many times wellness appears without the person feeling that “something has been done to him or her”.
